Sutton love for Ruth

Titi, Uncle Paul and Jolene showing their support!

Thank you to all of you that have donated and received your
Psalm 91:4 bands!

We hope that these bands remind you that:

The Lord will cover YOU with his feathers.
He will shelter YOU with his wings.  And
HIS faithful promises are YOUR armor and protection!

We also hope that you have many opportunities to share that truth and the HOPE we have with others ask they ask about your band.

We LOVE to see where our bands end up and would be excited to see your pictures. Send us your picture wearing your band and we'll post it here on our blog.  Who will be the most creative?
I can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

And remember- we  have more bands available!
Go in peace to Love and Serve our Lord.

Waiting on the Lord- in Infertility

The Lord calls families to grow by way of adoption in a variety of voices.  For some it is a mission trip oversees that gives a young woman the deep desire to adopt.  For others the Scriptures come alive and seem to speak the conviction into their heart.  For others, like me, the calling from the Lord seems to come from no where but is so "loud" that it is almost as if it was audible.  And still others the Lord moves through the pain and difficulty of infertility.

In honor of “National Infertility Awareness Week” I'd like to share the story of a childhood friend with you.  It is a story of the Lord drawing a couple closer to himself and giving them the faith they need along the way.

[Quick side note- the Reinstein's have not adopted- not yet anyways :).  I just want to share their story as it relates to all of us that are a waiting and trusting in the Lord.  Whether we are waiting to become parents, waiting for the Lord to bring us our babies through adoption, waiting on the Lord to provide necessary funds... we wait with the faith of Psalm 37 where we are told to"Commit your way to the Lordtrust in him, and he will act."]

'I encourage you to get a nice warm cup of coffee as you settle in to read this beautiful storyDouble the Reinsteins... Double the Fun:Don't Ignore...My Infertility Journey

For more encouragement and reminders of the Lord's SOVEREIGN will at play I'd also encourage you to read my friend Michelle's blog entitled Infertility and Adoption.  Start there and enjoy the ride!  Without ruining the surprise I'll go ahead and let you know she's currently writing another blog entitled Psalm 113 which begins with the post Witness A Miracle.

I pray your faith grows as you read about the lives of these two women that love the Lord.

Headley Family

Meet the Headley Family!

Diana and I had SO much fun with this sweet family of 5.  The Headley family traveled all the way from Columbia- just for me!  (Well, technically me AND a Danielle that they had lunch with :) )
Considering that they had been in the car for over an hour these kiddos did an incredible job smiling for me.  The boys were a hoot and little miss.. well she was a hilariously sassy little thing!

They have been patiently waiting for over a week to see some of their pictures so I will delay no longer.  Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Brothers!

A few "I just turned 1" Portraits

Big Brother loves

Loved both of these so I decided to share them :)

I absolutely LOVE this shot of a typical "um I don't think so" mommy-of-boys moment

Now here's a sweet one

And the happy couple that started it all!

Headley's- thank you, for your prayers and support!  I can't wait to see who the Lord brings into your family next!  May God bless you and keep you... always.

The one on the right just destroyed a MudRun with my hot hubby, my crazy Dad and his friend.

The one on the left deserves an award for helping watch my boys while I played in the dirt too.

Love you Emily and William!!!

Join us in some MUDDY FUN!

This will be a “muddy” week indeed!

First, Niles and I will be competing in an insane mudrun this
weekend in Columbia, SC.

Niles team also includes my brother and my DAD and my team is full of fiesty women.  We have been “training” (and I use that term loosly) for several months and are eager to experience the messy fun!

I can’t wait to tackle this obstacle in particular:

HA!  That is going to be intense!

And the second reason we are excited about MUD this week is that we received our  MudLOVE bands today!

Tah-dah!

I mentioned in a previous post that we ordered these personalized bands to help in our fundraising efforts. And they're here!

MudLove bands make us excited for several reasons:
  • For one, they look awesome!
  • They are handcrafted by founder, Luke Wright in IL.
  • Luke gives 20% of all sales to clean water in Africa through a faith-based organization, ICDI, a company dedicated to providing, equipping, and empowering people in the Central African Republic with the essential tools and knowledge to survive and thrive in their country! Yeah!
  • Each band provides clean drinking water for an African for a year!!!

And if all those reasons weren't enough:
  • Luke has agreed to partner with us to help fundraise our adoption by
  • handcrafting, personalized bands with Ruth’s verse, Psalm 91:4!!

What more reasons could anyone need to order one- today?

For every $15 donation to our adoption fund, we will send you a “Psalm 91:4” MudLove band with either a black or brown band.

How do I get my hands on those,
you ask?

It's easy!

Spring Portraits- On their way!

First, I'm excited to annouce my little photography fundraising project logo got a little make-over!  Our insanely talented friend, Burke Lauderdale, graciously made us a new logo!  You will begin to see this in future posts and on our print materials.  Thank you, dear friend, for doing this for us!  We LOVE it!

Second, I'm done editing the Spring shoot!  All 19 sittings- Phew!

Kylie and I could not have asked the Lord for a more beautiful "Spring Portraits in the Garden" day!  It started just cool enough to wake us up and ended with the most beautiful warm sunshine.  Thank you to all that prayed for great weather and endurance- the Lord provided both!

We want to thank all of you that participated.  It was such a pleasure for us to spend time with each of you and your sweet children.  Thank you for your encouragements and your donations.  Please be encouraged that your donations to our adoption funds mean more than we can express.  Know too that the Lord is pleased with your generosity.

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed (Proverbs 19:17)

Since we had 19 different appointments I wasn't sure how to share my favorites with you without pages and pages... so I decided to make collages.  I hope you enjoy them!

Families

Couples

Siblings/Cousins

Portraits

And I couldn't close this post without some of my favorite "Sillies and Smiles"

Thank you again, to all that participated!  Stay tuned in coming months for a possible "Early Summer Portraits" day!

(Note: those of you that participated will either receive your CD from Kylie or will receive a copy in the mail Tuesday or Wednesday- depending on the preference you specified)

Encouragement from Dolly Parton

Check out the book that "just happened" to come in the mail today :).

Today's reminder that I am on God's mind- always!
"How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I would count them, they are more than the sand.
I awake, and I am still with you."
Psalm 139:17-18

Patient as a Butterfly

My sweet sister bought me this perfect book.

Inside she inscribed a verse i hope to memorize:
"... But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

Thank you, Diana, for your steadfast love and prayers. I love you!

Tongson Family Spring Shoot

Meet the Tongson Family!

I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family at Glencairn Garden last Sunday afternoon. It was a really sunny afternoon so we had to be creative with lighting and the park was PACKED with people enjoying the day- but we still managed to have a great time together!    We even saw a "cowboy princess"- ask me about that later.  Without further delay- here are my favorites from the day!
Mama and her little girls
She looks just like a Precious Moments Doll!
What a beautiful young lady

I think these 2 would be fun to hang out with!  Great smiles!
What a sweet family!
Sisters! This might be my favorite from the day.
Daddy with his 3 girls
I think these 2 really like each other- they were cutting up most of the time!
Another fun family shot
And to close I'll leave you with  with a couple sweet shot of the 2 oldest sisters... I love sister shots!

Thank you, Tongson's, for a great afternoon and for supporting us as we work to bring our sweet Ruth home.  May God continue to bless you all!

PS: You may notice that these pictures don't have my "RuthieBPhotography"  logo.

2 reasons:

#1 I'm thrilled to announce that my logo is getting a make-over! I'm SO excited and will tell you all about it very soon!

#2 I forgot and I'm too tired to go back. :)
